And now for something completely different...

Schalke is too stupid to become Soccer Champ
I think every english is going to kill you, if you call football soccer. But in fact, you're right, poor performance this weekend, but the others failed to close the gap. Time will tell, still 11 matches to play.

If the US could switch to the usual names for sports we wouldn't need to explain it every time.

footbaal instead of american footbaal
soccer instead of football
hockey instead of Ice hockey

And I'm definitely too old for "Oh-my-God-we're-all-gonna-die-from-change-of-climate-Panic"

And the best is... when I typed it something felt strange, but I couldn't find the reason :wand:

Happens to others too, Drago...

At the beginneing I had problems with baalruns, because I always wrote ballruns... now it's the other way around

Just fighting with my Firefox, too.

Doesn't want me to auto login on the page

anyone already listened to the new Korn album?

if you'd ask me a year ago, i never would have possibly imagined,
that they're going to do an unplugged record.
(well,... neither i did with nirvana ^)

but look at them now :D.

i'll probably listen in tomorrow,.. :)

have a good night, all of you.

glad you told me about their new album. I did not know about that yet. Unplugged Korn sounds interesting. Might listen to the thing before buying it.

Totally boring "Creep" cover if you wanna know my opinion. An electric version would have been interesting, but their acoustic cover of it is not inventive at all.

you're refering to the song "creep" or the hole record?.

well, got a first "listen-iN" today, and i'm not as disappointed as i thought i would be :D.

as we all know, bands tend to loose their quality when they become famous and get older.

ofc. there are always a few exeptional geniuses,
that somehow manage to stay fresh and original, (even without the drugs^^).

anyway, basically everything korn did in the last years, was a disappointment.

"stick to the point dammit".
fine, it took me a while to "get familiar" with the Korn songs played unplugged.

afterall, (please correct me if im wrong) Korn is the first "heavy-new-metal" band that did this.

as i said upwards ^ it was a positive surprise.

from time to time it sounds a bit cramped,
but no matter, i think they did a good job, its hard to do accoustic versions of "blind" f.e.

fav's so far: blind, feak on a leash (yea, its with that evanesence-girl, jonathans voice didnt seem to please these MTV-sellouts). and

on the other hand, im not satisfied with the songs they've choosen!
twisted transistor and coming undone??? i mean Wtf?

didnt they make it for their fans`?
IF you do a unplugged record, you should perform the songs you're most famous for! your greatest songs of all time.

and excuse me if i claim (right here and now),that these two mentioned songs, are by far the worst Korn-singles.

but thats kinda all, i guess^^.#

funny that r.smith got a feat. :) must be great for davis.

afterall i wasnt that pissed, as i was by the time i listened to the last 2 albums -_-.

finally, im tired and should get some rest,

**edit,... is "positive surprise" usual in english?

im not quite sure, if it works, or if i just made it up, and translated the phrase from german^^

Leo.org says "pleasant surprise" but I think, everyone understands your term as well.

thanks :)

leo's right, "pleasant" sounds a lot better.

who of you guys already saw england, scotland, or the u.s.?

the reason why im asking is, that im thinking about planing a little trip to a native-english country in summer.

any suggestions? :)

I had part on the student exchange of my school in 1997. We went to Leeds and I worked there at the Virgin record shop for a week.
I just can recommend to go to England for some weeks. You get a better feeling in free speech. And I think the pronunciation increases very good. But that is not valid for Scotland and the USA. In the last time I see often people in the TV who went to America. And if there are talking some Americans I get always crazy about their mumbling for it is really hard to understand :)

By the way: Is Welsh no an own language or not?

I like this thread. It is allowed to write most substantives starting with small letters

Unfortunately I can't help you.

But I like scotland. In a few years i'd like do a biker-tour across the highlands. I like the landscape there.

first of all, thx 4 the reply. :)

you're right, i hate the american-english too, afterall its easier than the good old british way of talking :D

i thought about kanada and australia too, that sounds at least kind of funny^.

i'm not sure if welsh realy counts as a own language.
probably they just have a badas* accent :D, like the folks from scotland^^.

capital letters are for morons :D, i never use them in german either .

Looks like it does:

You can find more information here.

damm welsh is strange, just thumbed a little through wiki.

and found the following^

Welsh English
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welsh English, Anglo-Welsh, or Wenglish (see below) refer to the dialects of English spoken in Wales by Welsh people. The dialects are significantly modified by Welsh grammar and nouns, and contain a number of unique words. In addition to the distinctive words and grammar, there is a variety of accents found across Wales.

John Edwards has written and spoken entertainingly about a specific form of Welsh English — that found in the south-east area of Wales — as Wenglish. Some people, generally outside Wales, use the same word to refer to any form of English spoken in Wales.
