Zu der erneuten Kontroverse meint Blizzard Poster MicahW:
Much of the information being accepted as fact are assumptions and misinformation on how our detection methods work, what information they collect, and what information is actually reported back to us. Much of the information being accepted as fact is provided by individuals or websites with motives other than to provide helpful information to consumers. Our detection methods thwart hack attempts; I don“t think it“s crazy to think that those who would use or create those hacks would attempt to have our detection methods removed by any means necessary; even if that means exaggerating or creating false information.
As stated previously our detection methods are very similar to other detection methods used in many games, such as PunkBuster. A detection method used in games such as Battlefield 2, Counter Strike, America“s Army, Far Cry, Doom 3, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six 3, and many others. If you have played any of these games online your system has likely already undergone similar detection methods. I think it“s interesting that our specific detection methods are being singled out while others remain widely accepted as necessary to keep the games fair and safe from use of cheats. Maybe it is a testament to the popularity of our games.
I don“t feel it is necessary for me to try to prove our detection methods are harmless, this will be the last comment I make on the subject.
